Aktifitas Berbagi Informasi oleh Pustakawan dan Pemustaka Pada Layanan Referensi di Perpustakaan Universitas Airlangga
Abstract
This article discusses information sharing activities at the Airlangga University Library, especially in reference services. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The technique of collecting data by direct observation and through questionnaires. The purpose of this research is to find out how the process and sustainability of information sharing activities and how to cultivate sustainable information sharing activities. This research resulted in findings that the process and sustainability of information-sharing activities were carried out by regularly holding discussion forums between fellow librarians, sharing information via social media among fellow librarians, and being diligent in participating in librarian trainings. It is not only librarians who share information, but also users. Users share information by forming a learning forum at the Airlangga University library either at reference services or other services. Sharing information between librarians and visitors also occurs especially in reference services with discussion activities when there is a request for accompanying services and looking for reference information needed by users for study and research purposes. To cultivate information sharing, it was found that the response of librarians and visitors was the need to maintain communication, as well as ethics and communication principles such as listening to each other's opinions, asking for and receiving new knowledge sharing, and being able to communicate politely, politely and clearly understood.
