Transforming Mathematics Learning: An Android-Based Interactive Approach to Enhance Third-Grade Students’ Problem-Solving Skills

Abstract


This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of third grade madrasah ibtidaiyah students. To overcome this, interactive learning media based on Android was developed to improve mathematical problem-solving abilities at madrasah ibtidaiyah. The purpose of this study was to produce valid, practical, and effective learning media. The method used was the ADDIE development model with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through validation sheets, tests, and practicality questionnaires, with 18 Islamic elementary school students as subjects. The results of the media expert validation were 90.9%, and the material expert's were 97.3%, both of which were very feasible. The student's N-Gain score of 0.5069 was in the moderate category, indicating an increase in ability. The practicality of the media was assessed by 80% of teachers and 93.1% of students, categorized as very practical. The conclusion of this study is that interactive media based on Android is declared valid, practical, and effective and has the potential to support mathematics learning in elementary schools.
