Dampak Pelatihan Literasi Informasi Pada Persepsi Mahasiswa Terhadap Plagiarisme

Abstract


Keterampilan literasi informasi sangat penting bagi mahasiswa yang ada di zaman informasi. Salah satu tantangan yang terjadi di abad informasi dan plagiarisme. Literasi informasi dipercaya dapat mereduksi praktek plagiarisme yang terjadi di berbagai universitas. Kajian ini merupakan kajian deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan survei terhadap 331 mahasiswa fakultas ilmu Pendidikan. Empat pertanyaan yang menjadi pertanyaan riset kajian ini adalah (1) apakah literasi informasi berdampak pada pemahaman mahasiswa akan plagairisme? (2) Seberapa seriuskah plagiarisme dipahami oleh mahasiswa? (3) Apakah pelatihan literasi informasi berdampak pada sikap dan tingkah laku mahasiswa terhadap plagiarisme, dan (4) Apakah pelatihan literasi menambah keterampilan mahasiswa menggunakan aplikasi pengelola referensi di dalam tulisan? Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ada dampak signifikan tentang pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap plagiarisme. Hasil lain menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menganggap plagiarisme sebagai masalah yang serius, namun dampak terhadap tingkah laku mereka untuk menghindari plagiarisme masih harus dikembangkan. Selain itu diperoleh juga hasil kajian yang menunjukkan dampak yang signifikan pelatihan literasi informasi pada penggunaan manajer referensi pasca pelatihan. Kajian ini bermanfaat untuk menguatkan hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan manfaat langsung pelatihan literasi informasi untuk membangun persepsi positif mahasiswa terhadap plagiarisme.
