Tuntunan dan Tontonan: Analisis Fenomena Dakwah dalam Tantangan Komodifikasi Agama

Abstract

Nowadays, information and communications technology are developing rapidly and its influenced in the context of Islamic da'wah. Submission of da'wah messages is now also taking advantage of existing developments. Hopefully, da'wah can continue to be a guide that touches people's lives holistically even though there is a pretension of changing functions in da'wah, namely becoming a tool of religious commodification, so it is likely to make da'wah as entertainment or preaching (entertaining show). The question that arises is how do da'wah keep its essence as a guide for the life of the people amid in developmental pretensions that can change its nature as an entertaining show (dakwahtainment)? In this context, contemporary Islamic thinkers and practitioners provide a thought of analysis to dilute the pretensions of the times which can weaken da'wah. In this article, we are going to analyze the phenomenon of da'wah that has the opportunity to be commodified through the perspective of fundamental da'wah to strengthen the nature and meaning of da'wah in an ever-changing life.
