Author Guidelines
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Articles submitted to the PALASTREN journal may consist of conceptual papers or research findings in the fields of gender and child studies.
Manuscripts must be typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt font, with 1.5 line spacing on A4 paper, consisting of 5,000–7,000 words.
Files must be prepared using Microsoft Word format (RTF extension). The author’s name should be written without academic titles and placed below the article title.
Authors must include their institutional affiliation and e-mail address to facilitate communication.
All section and subsection titles should be written in bold, without numbering.
Structure of Conceptual Articles
The structure should consist of:
- Title
- Author’s name (without academic titles)
- Abstract (100–200 words) in both Indonesian and English
- Keywords
- Introduction (without the heading “Introduction”), containing background, objectives, methods, and previous studies
- Discussion (may be divided into several subsections)
- Conclusion
- References (only cited sources should be included)
Structure of Research Articles
The structure should consist of:
- Title
- Author’s name (without academic titles)
- Abstract (maximum 200 words), containing objectives, methods, and research findings
- Keywords
- Introduction (without the heading “Introduction”), containing background, literature review, research objectives, and methods
- Discussion
- Conclusion and Suggestions
- References (only cited sources should be included)
Priority should be given to primary references such as research reports, undergraduate theses, master’s theses, dissertations, and research articles published in scientific journals and magazines.
References and citations should use parenthetical citation style: (Author, Year: Page).
Direct quotations must include the page number. Example: (Umar, 2010: 72).
The bibliography must be arranged alphabetically and chronologically.

Author’s name, year, article title, in editor’s name (ed.), publication title or scientific meeting title; place and date of meeting. Place of publication: Publisher. Pages.

6. Abstract
Author’s name, year, abstract title [abstract], publication title or conference name; place and date of conference; place of publication: publisher, pages, abstract number.
7. Thesis, Dissertation, and Thesis
Author’s name, year, title [type of publication], institution location: institution name.
Example:
Firdausy, Anwar. 2004. Analisis Tipologi Pemikiran Karl Marx dalam Pandangan Ali Syari’ati [Master’s Thesis]. Yogyakarta: Graduate Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
8. Patent
Name of inventor, the word “inventor”; patent holder institution; name of patented product/process; patent number; publication date.
9. Newspaper Article
Author’s name, publication date, title, newspaper name, page number (column number).
10. News Article without Author
Surya, 31 December 2008, “KPK Pelototi Dana Yayasan Instansi Negara,” p. 3.
11. Official Document
