Multimodal Guidance and Counseling Model to Develop Productive Personality of Elderly People

Abstract

This study aims to develop an effective multimodal guidance and counseling model in improving productive personality in the elderly. The underlying issue of this study is the challenge in maintaining productive personality in the elderly amidst the physical, psychological, and social changes experienced. The purpose of this study is to produce a multimodal guidance and counseling model that has been proven effective in developing productive personality in the elderly. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) consisting of 10 steps, namely: (1) research and information collection, (2) planning, (3) product draft development, (4) initial field trial, (5) main product revision, (6) main field trial, (7) operational product revision, (8) operational field trial, (9) final product revision, and (10) dissemination and implementation. The subjects of this study involved 64 elderly people divided into 32 control groups and 32 experimental groups. Research data were collected through a productive personality scale and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the study indicate that the developed multimodal guidance and counseling model is effective in improving productive personality in the elderly.
