KH. NOOR AHMAD SS: PEMIKIRAN HISAB AWAL WAKTU SHALAT

Abstract

KH. Noor Ahmad SS is a prominent figure in the field of Islamic astronomy, famous for his knowledge and expertise. He was born in Jepara, Wednesday Pahing, December 14, 1932 M / 15 Shaban 1351 H. He studied at several Islamic boarding schools: Langitan, Lasem and Jekulo, Kudus. In addition, he also received formal education from Madrasah Tasywiq Al-Thullab Salafiah (TBS) Kudus under the guidance of KH. Turaichan Adjhuri asy-Syarofi. Among his teachers in the field of Islamic astronomy are Kiai Jalal Jepara (his own brother), KH. Rifan Kudus, KH. Turaichan Adjhuri Asy-Syarofi Kudus, and Syekh Yasin bin Isa Al-Fadani Mecca. He had written several works spread all over Indonesia. Among those are: Syawariq Al-Anwar (2 vols), Syams Al- Hilal (2 vols), Taufiq Ar-Rahman, dan Nur Al-Anwar. The writer want to conducted research specifically about this prominent figures thought in the determination of prayer time.

The method of reckoning prayer time of KH Noor Ahmad SS is categorized as modern in his era, in terms of applying spherical Trigonometry in calculation formula. Data of Solar Declination and Equation of Time is constant. High of Sun (h ) is constant, ie; Maghrib : -1 13, Isya : -18, Shubuh: -20, Terbit: -1 13, and Dluha: 4 30, except Ashar that must be calculated every day, because the movement of the Solar Declination toward the Latitude. The formula for Sun angle time (t) uses two reference points namely Nishfu Qousin Nahar and Nishfu Qousil Lail. The formulas for angle time are two types, namely Ittifaq and Ikhtilaf
