Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to Iqtishadia: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam will be considered for publication if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Scope of the Paper
    The manuscript should discuss themes related to Islamic Economics, Islamic Business, Islamic Finance, or other relevant topics within the scope of Islamic economic thought and practices. Papers must be written in English.
  2. Originality
    Submitted articles must be original, research-based, unpublished, and not under review for publication in any other journal.
  3. Manuscript Format
    • Manuscripts must be written using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), using Georgia font, size 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, and A4 size paper.
    • Length of the manuscript should be between 15–25 pages, including references, tables, and figures.
    • The paper must follow the structure:
      Title, Author’s Name (without academic titles), Institution, Email Address, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Limitation, and References.
  4. Title
    The title should be concise, clear, and no more than 20 words.
  5. Abstract & Keywords
    • The abstract must be between 160–200 words, written in English, without citations.
    • It should briefly state the purpose, method, key findings, and significance of the research.
    • Keywords should consist of 6–8 relevant words or phrases.
  6. References
    • References must follow the APA style, as shown in the template.
    • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.
    • Only references cited in the text should be included in the reference list.
  7. Submission Process
    • All submissions must be made through the Online Journal System (OJS) of Iqtishadia.
    • The manuscript will undergo double-blind peer review and may be edited for style and formatting, without changing the substance.
  8. Review and Editorial Decision
    • Authors will be notified via OJS regarding the review outcome.
    • Manuscripts not meeting the journal’s standards or out of scope will be rejected.
  9. Plagiarism Policy
    All submissions will be checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts with more than 20% similarity index will be automatically rejected.
  10. Ethical Statement
    Authors must ensure that their research adheres to ethical standards and that any conflict of interest is declared.

Ethics of AI Use

  1. Authors are permitted to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools only to assist with writing, such as improving grammar, style, or formatting.
  2. AI may not be used to create the main content of the article, such as the introduction, research results, discussion, or conclusion.
  3. AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author in the article.
  4. If AI is used in the writing process, authors must include a statement at the end of the article.
  5. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and scientific integrity of the entire article.
  6. The use of AI without transparency or that results in data manipulation will be considered a violation of publication ethics.

Iqtishadia: Jurnal Kajian Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam, is a double blind reviewed journal published twice a year in Juny and December. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the authors, the chief editor, the editorial board, the reviewers and the publisher of Department of Islamic economics, IAIN Kudus.
