Pendekatan Strategi Tidak Langsung Oxford dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Madrasah Aliyah Jombang

Abstract


 

The strategy of learning Arabic applied by teachers tends to always receive attention, so often the students' learning strategies are neglected or less noticed. In fact, language learning strategies are an important element in the success of learning, especially Arabic. Among the language learning strategies used by students, especially at the senior high school (madrasah aliyah) level in Jombang regency, is the Oxford model language learning strategy. This study aims to describe the Arabic learning strategies employing the Oxford indirect model used by the 12th-grade students of senior high school Al-Munawaroh Ngemplak and senior high school Darussalam Sengon Jombang, particularly in the skills of speaking and reading Arabic. This research uses a qualitative approach through observation and interviews with several students and Arabic teachers using purposive sampling method and data analysis model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the indirect strategies used by students when learning speaking and reading skills in Arabic are predominantly metacognitive and affective strategies.
